According to rumors, Dennis Schroder turned down a four-year, $84 million contract offer from the Los Angeles Lakers. He would ultimately go on to regret that decision when he signed on with the Boston Celtics for just under $6 million this past offseason.

Then at the trade deadline, he was moved to the Houston Rockets. While he has played for them, there’s still a chance he could get bought out before the end of the year.

There should be a robust market for him in free agency if that were to happen. Although he didn’t fit in perfectly with the Celtics, he still has a lot to offer.

If Schroder were to hit the buyout market, what five teams should be calling up his phone, inquiring about his services? Here are the top candidates.

5 teams that should target Dennis Schroder on the buyout market: Milwaukee Bucks

After trading for Serge Ibaka at the trade deadline, the Milwaukee Bucks still have a lack of scoring off their bench. Adding Dennis Schroder to the rotation would help.

There were rumblings around the deadline that the Bucks could be interested in trading Donte DiVincenzo to the Celtics for Schroder, but obviously, that did not come to fruition.

George Hill has been alright for Milwaukee this season, but Schroder would be a clear upgrade. His scoring and ball-handling abilities would give them a nice punch.

Even if the Bucks don’t want to play Schroder for heavy minutes, having that sort of production available would be nice. At the very least, he’d be someone who could drop 20 points if need be.
