The Brooklyn Nets have been rolling this season, as they currently boast the Eastern Conference’s best record at 20-8. They have looked like the championship favorites that many pegged them to be entering the season. It will be thrilling to see if they can dethrone the Milwaukee Bucks as the reigning conference champions, or possibly the NBA champions by season’s end.

Though they have been rolling, the Nets might look to bolster their title odds by bringing in some reinforcements before the February trade deadline. While Brooklyn is short on assets and financial flexibility, they have been mentioned in the rumor mill regarding a few high-end targets this year.

Maybe that could turn into something down the road. With all that being said, let us take a look at three NBA trade targets that would make sense for the Nets.

3 NBA trade targets to help the Brooklyn Nets chase a title: Danuel House

Everyone knows that the Nets are a finely tuned machine offensively, but the biggest question revolves around how good they can be defensively. To their credit, they have been great on that side of the ball this year, as they currently have the fifth-best defensive rating.

Though they have been excellent, that should not stop them from scouring the market for more defensive-minded players, and Danuel House could be a feasible trade target.

After playing scarcely throughout his first two seasons, House carved out a role for himself with the Houston Rockets by playing physical defense. At 6-foot-6, 220 lbs, House gave the Rockets a versatile defender to guard multiple positions.

On the other side of the ball, he is a solid outside shooter as he knocked down 37.3 percent of his three-point attempts over the previous three years. He was a key contributor on those teams that constantly competed amongst the best in the Western Conference alongside James Harden, who is now a Net.

The Nets could use a piece like House to shore up their defense and add more shooting, while also providing the team with some wing depth. Of course, the Nets will be without Joe Harris for a large portion of the season after he recently underwent ankle surgery.

While House does not bring that same level of elite shooting, he could be a solid fill-in for the time being. Making $3.9 million this season, House would be an affordable and attainable trade target for Brooklyn.
