The Brooklyn Nets have been rolling this season, as they currently boast the Eastern Conference’s best record at 20-8. They have looked like the championship favorites that many pegged them to be entering the season. It will be thrilling to see if they can dethrone the Milwaukee Bucks as the reigning conference champions, or possibly the NBA champions by season’s end.
Though they have been rolling, the Nets might look to bolster their title odds by bringing in some reinforcements before the February trade deadline. While Brooklyn is short on assets and financial flexibility, they have been mentioned in the rumor mill regarding a few high-end targets this year.
Maybe that could turn into something down the road. With all that being said, let us take a look at three NBA trade targets that would make sense for the Nets.
3 NBA trade targets to help the Brooklyn Nets chase a title: Danuel House
Everyone knows that the Nets are a finely tuned machine offensively, but the biggest question revolves around how good they can be defensively. To their credit, they have been great on that side of the ball this year, as they currently have the fifth-best defensive rating.
Though they have been excellent, that should not stop them from scouring the market for more defensive-minded players, and Danuel House could be a feasible trade target.
After playing scarcely throughout his first two seasons, House carved out a role for himself with the Houston Rockets by playing physical defense. At 6-foot-6, 220 lbs, House gave the Rockets a versatile defender to guard multiple positions.
On the other side of the ball, he is a solid outside shooter as he knocked down 37.3 percent of his three-point attempts over the previous three years. He was a key contributor on those teams that constantly competed amongst the best in the Western Conference alongside James Harden, who is now a Net.
The Nets could use a piece like House to shore up their defense and add more shooting, while also providing the team with some wing depth. Of course, the Nets will be without Joe Harris for a large portion of the season after he recently underwent ankle surgery.
While House does not bring that same level of elite shooting, he could be a solid fill-in for the time being. Making $3.9 million this season, House would be an affordable and attainable trade target for Brooklyn.

<h2>3 NBA trade targets to help the Brooklyn Nets chase a title: Thaddeus Young</h2>
<p>Sticking with defense, the Nets could bulk up their efforts on that side of the ball by bringing back a familiar face in <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/12/15/nba-trade-targets-brooklyn-nets/"https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/y/youngth01.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener" ref="nofollow">Thaddeus Young</a>. The current San Antonio Spur played 101 games with the Nets between the 2014-2016 seasons, and pursuing a reunion with him would make sense for a handful of reasons.</p>
<p>Young has been known for his physical defense, utilizing his hulking stature to defend household names at a high level. Offensively, he is not a great shooter from distance, but he has consistently been a double-digit scorer in this league over the past decade.</p>
<p>The veteran forward would be a perfect fit for the Nets, especially looking down the road. If Brooklyn runs into Milwaukee in the postseason for the second consecutive year, having a player like Young on their side would be incredibly helpful when trying to slow down Giannis Antetokounmpo.</p>
<p>They struggled to contain him in their last playoff matchup, and that will be something in the back of Brooklyn’s mind with any potential NBA trade targets.</p>
<p>The Nets should be among the teams monitoring Young’s situation in San Antonio. The forward is currently playing a career-low 14.6 minutes per contest this season and has expressed frustration with his role in the rotation.</p>
<p>If the Spurs make him available, teams will come calling, and the Nets should be among them. Taking on what remains of his $14.2 million salary could prove to be challenging, but this front office could surely figure it out if it means adding a player like Young.</p>

<h2>3 NBA trade targets to help the Brooklyn Nets chase a title: Myles Turner</h2>
<p>Though this one might seem somewhat far-fetched, <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/12/15/nba-trade-targets-brooklyn-nets/"https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/turnemy01.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener" ref="nofollow">Myles Turner</a> would be a perfect fit for the Nets. While Young would be a solid addition to give Brooklyn a boost in the frontcourt, Turner would catapult the team’s already sky-high championship odds.</p>
<p>The 25-year-old Turner is most well known for his defense, having led the NBA in blocked shots twice, and currently on pace to do it once again. The big man is undoubtedly an admirable interior defender, which would help the Nets, who could use the added muscle inside.</p>
<p>Once again, Turner would be a massive addition in a hypothetical series against Milwaukee and the Greek Freak due to his defensive stature. Having him guard Antetokounmpo over players like Blake Griffin or Paul Millsap would be a luxury.</p>
<p>Although he is known for his defense, Turner is no slouch offensively, either. Currently averaging 12.8 points while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor and 38.1 percent from long distance, the big man would add another element to this offense. Nets fans can only imagine the constant lobs that Turner would catch from Harden on the offensive end.</p>
<p>The challenging part with any Turner trade starts – and possibly ends – with his hefty salary. The big man is making $17.5 million this season, which would require the Nets to jump through some financial hoops to pull off a trade.</p>
<p>Yet, Turner is currently in the center of trade rumors after The Athletic’s Shams Charania <strong>(subscription required)</strong> recently reported that the <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/12/15/nba-trade-targets-brooklyn-nets/"https://theathletic.com/3003299/2021/12/07/pacers-potentially-move-to-rebuild-receptive-to-trade-talks-on-caris-levert-domantas-sabonis-myles-turner-sources/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pacers are potentially eyeing a rebuild</a> and <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/12/15/nba-trade-targets-brooklyn-nets/"https://hoopshabit.com/2021/12/10/nba-trade-rumors-myles-turner-indiana-pacers/" rel="">Turner could be among the first out the door</a>.</p>
<p>He will have no shortage of interested suitors, and the Brooklyn Nets need to make a run at him. Adding him would distance the Nets from the rest of the NBA’s top contenders.</p>
